The mission of Safe Places is to create communities where every child is protected, every home is a safe place, and where every person can live a life free from violence.
The most important part of that mission is creating homes. schools, and neighborhoods where every child is protected and every child knows how to find safe places and safe people.
We have developed programs for children and adolescents that include safe places, safe people, and growing a child's inner sense of safety.
Family Violence Prevention Programs
"Safe Places was certainly there for my child when she needed help. We will never forget all that they did to keep her safe."
It all begins with family . . .
But when no family is involved in a child's life,
we help create one - a loving, caring surrogate family to help a child through the rough spots of life.
Through the Safe Places Family Violence Prevention Program, a program we call Safe Families, we work hard to make a difference for children, one child at a time, and their families.
Our prevention programs are that . . . and more. The programs we offer include a continuum of prevention that includes primary prevention initiatives, along with crisis intervention, individual child and family assessment, advocacy, trauma-focused individual counseling for children and their families, parenting instruction, mentoring opportunities . . .
a continuum of interventions that result in safe, strong, self-reliant children and families.
We provide school-based services that include individual assessments for children, as well as family assessments when needed.
We make sure that children have opportunities to be involved in appropriate violence prevention education and support groups.
We provide individual and family counseling, including conflict resolution sessions for sibling groups.
